STORAGE OF YOUR KIT
Storage is similar on most of the cars. the first thing you are going to do is remove the the Styrofoam insert in the trunk to make room for the kit.
Adapter style kit:
For the older Camaro's that have the tire well, its basic and straight forward, the jack fits in a little cradle on the back side the battery box, it may take a little modification, ( you may need to bend the metal tabs a little to get the jack to slip into place), and then the tire set over the battery box, and you can stow the lug wrench along side of the tire. lay the deck lid back in place, take the big plastic nut and snug down the deck lid and your finished.
New rim without adapter:
Everything is the same with the acceptation, that there are 4 Styrofoam blocks that lay in the bottom of the tire well around the lip at the bottom. Place those opposite each other, they do have adhesive to hold them in place. install the jack behind the battery box, set the tire in, stow your lug wrench, add the stud extension bolt, replace the deck lid and snig it down. Unfortunately with the new rim design, and the back spacing required the deck lid will not lay flush in the trunk any longer, how ever once the carpeting is back down it isn't super noticeable.
Newer Camaro's with no tire well, this is what GM has done for you yet again!!
Dodge/Chrysler all makes and models: Adapter style kit.
Remove the Styrofoam insert, take the included bolt and insert it in the notch in the bottom of the tire well pan, open the jack body just enough to side it over the bolt, snug the jack back down on the bolt, install the washer and wing nut provided in the kit. Now set the tire over the jack, take the adapter with the lug nuts on and turn it up side down with the bolts through the holes, place the second washer and wing nut on the bolt and tighten it down. And you are finished!!
